White Rabbit features Megaways, BTG’s own take on creating winning combinations across all reels. On initiating a new spin, a new Megaways number is generated at the top of the screen, relaying how many permissible ways to win there are for that spin. These can vary from as little as a few hundred up to a possible 16,807. Five reels across, each of White Rabbit’s reels may hold anything between 2 and 7 symbols.

GAME MECHANICS

The Wild symbol is represented visually as a mirror, and may appear on any reel except reel 1.  It can substitute for any other symbol, except the scatter and coins.

What sets this slot apart is its rip-roaring ‘Extending Reels’ bonus feature, which can summon up to 12 symbols per reel, with an eye- watering 248,832 ways to win potential!

Though somewhat sparse, the base game is livened up by intermittent Bonus Wilds, that get placed across the screen.  These Wilds may substitute for any other symbol, except for the scatters and Coin Drops. Up to 4 may appear, and these can also stack on top of one another to create 2x and 3x combinations, all via the aid of the Caterpillar found to be usually in some sort of slumber to the left of the screen.

GAME FEATURES AND BONUSES

The real fun is to be had with the main feature, mind.  Rabbit scatters on reels 2,3 & 4 will trigger an initial 15 spins.  Each reel will start between 5 and 7 symbols per reel, and can be further stretched whenever a cupcake appears, lengthening it by one, and subsequently adding 2 more symbols to that reel.  This also denoted by a number that fades into view, indicating how many reels have been unlocked thus far.

Should one reel be fully unlocked with 12 symbols, a counter appears noting how many additional spins have been won.  These range from a further 3- 12, and may be re-triggered up to five times!

The Queen’s Reel is activated once all 12 symbols are reached, adding subsequent Red Queen symbols into the mix.

Needless to say, unlocking the maximum 12 symbols on every reel becomes an addiction in itself, and has been known to produce monumental wins.  The bonus game rivals anything Bonanza or Danger can produce, and even surpasses them when in full flow!

CONCLUSION

I believe this to be BTG’s standout feature out of all their releases so far, and have managed to unlock 4 out of 5 reels fully, powering me to a post- 1000x bonus round.  It is hard to initially maximize even one, but more often than not, once achieved the others are just as likely to follow due to the re-spin wheel. Edge of the seat stuff, given that almost every follow-on win results in majestic Megaways mayhem.

The game’s main bone of contention is the option to fully purchase the bonus and bypass any base game waffle.  This is somewhat frowned upon due to its controversial nature, whereby some players may end up buying the bonus on loop, on the promise of a big cash out.

Coin drops do lessen the amount needed to buy these, and appear at random.  At various intervals a coin symbol will appear on any reel, and ‘drop’ into the bonus counter, to be found alongside the stake size.  The feature purchase can be obtained outright and is set at 100x the stake amount, e.g at 10p stake it will cost £10 to purchase. Some players favour this method over taking their chances with a natural bonus dropping in, and I’ve purchased several of these in a row, only to scrape even or make a loss, so it is not to be recommended, and quite a dangerous implementation by the designers.

A decent slot overall then, elevated by its razzmatazz bonus game, but not wholly without its faults.
